In the growing community of Pine Hills, D.R. Horton set out to create a resort-inspired amenity space that reflects their brand’s signature style while providing lasting value for residents. This new community needed a pool and gathering area that would not only impress prospective buyers but also withstand years of active use.

The goal was clear: a family-friendly environment with the visual appeal of a vacation destination and the everyday functionality of a neighborhood hub. Budget and brand colors were key considerations, with the design reflecting D.R. Horton’s resort theme. Every element had to look sharp from day one and continue performing for years in South Carolina’s sunny, humid climate.

Project Features

• Signature Resort Pool – A spacious, curved pool layout with defined swim lanes, shallow lounging areas, and an integrated sunshelf featuring in-water chaise chairs for ultimate relaxation.

• Water Slide & Tower – A playful, custom-built slide anchored by the iconic “Pine Hills” water tower, creating a natural attraction for children and teens.

• Ample Shade & Comfort – Bold blue strap loungers paired with coordinated umbrellas keep the look cohesive and inviting while ensuring UV resistance.

• Durable HDPE Furnishings – Firepit seating and barstools crafted from recycled materials offer unmatched longevity—HDPE won’t rot, discolor, or warp, and it’s built to last.

• Reinforced Seating Design – Double-wrapped straps on loungers help keep seating material secured to the frame, while dual side pins add extra reinforcement to handle years of community use.

• Social & Dining Zones – From a grill area with bar seating to shaded umbrella tables, every corner is designed to foster connection.

Design Approach

B sqaured Purchasing carefully selected materials and finishes to meet a 2–3 year refurbish or replacement timeline, balancing cost-efficiency with visual impact. HDPE frames and solution-dyed sling mesh ensure the furnishings resist fading, cracking, and moisture damage. The layout provides a mix of quiet retreat spaces and lively social areas, making the amenity center adaptable for both weekday relaxation and busy weekend gatherings.
